Pray
This evening our church, Calvary Wesleyan, had a prayer walk throughout the surrounding neighborhoods. Our goal was simple, to pray for the people living in the homes we stood in front of. We prayed that God would meet their needs, and if none of the people inside the homes knew Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, we prayed that one day they may.
Our purpose was not to knock on doors, or pass out pamphlets, or to intrude in anyone’s life. We just prayed.
We set out in groups of seven. As far as I know, there is no biblical precedent for that number, but seven seemed like a right size for a group. Uncomplicated.
Nothing dramatic happened during our prayer walk. The heavens did not open up, no lighting bolts came down from the sky, it was just seven people, forming a circle, and holding hands as one prayed after another.
Only God knows how effective we were, but we prayed, and God does answer prayers.
Let us pray for our country. Pray that President Obama will see the error of his ways, and become a godly leader.
It’s difficult for me to believe a man could attend church for twenty years, and have none of the gospel of Jesus Christ take hold of his life. Unless his church attendance was posturing, rather than true worship. I will never know his heart, it is not my place to judge his heart, but his actions do speak loudly to what he believes. Purely based on his actions, I’d say Obama falls under the, “Just because you’re in a garage, that doesn’t make you a car”, category.
Pray for our country. Pray for Obama. Pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his misguided direction for this country. And, if Obama rejects the prompting of the Holy Spirit, pray that American be protected by any means necessary.
Our God is bigger than Obama, or all his Czars put together. In the end, we win. Until that time, Obama may be able to shut down the internet, he may be able to send his civilian goon army into our streets, he may be able to crumble our economy, but he will never be able to take away our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
