With all the hubbub taking place in Congress, my life seems inconsequential. But, I know the opposite is true.

This county was founded by individuals, like you and me. People who loved freedom, and wanted to express that freedom in all possible ways.

No group in society is more important than the individual.

And so, having said that, today I finished sanding my hardwood floors. I’m proud of that accomplishment.

Nothing political today, no satire, or biting humor, just one person in America doing one thing, at one time.

Well, let’ see. The sun rises, and sets. Same with the moon. We’re good there.

God is still God. Check.

My family loves me, and I love them, good!

Congress still is not listening to their constituents. Same ole, same ole.

Bawney Fwank, the one who got us into this whole banking mess in the first place, is asking Fannie Mae, to again relax their mortgage lending rules. Me thinks, Bawney’s tiara may be on a bit too tightly.

Well, nothing catastrophic has happened to our nation this morning. I suppose Obama must be getting back from his smoke break, away from the children and family, and is perhaps still in the gym, trying to improve his lung function for the boringly inane statements he is sure to make today.

Let’s count our blessings while we may.

It was a typical Obama, “Here, look at me, America, I won”, outing.

He answered no questions directly. Hence said nothing.

He was asked no hard questions, so it can hardly be said the press was in attendance.

The American people learned absolutely nothing new.

However, to be positive, it was not on Prime Time TV.

Haven’t watched the news today, nor listened to talk radio, didn’t pick up a newspaper either. Today was a day to clear my head of all the talking heads, internet forums, and printed media. Today, I thought about my family, America, and where the both of us are headed. The thoughts of my family’s future are brighter than my thoughts of America. As of this moment, I still have control over my family, and the decisions my wife and I make. Obama, et al, have not invaded the sanctity and privacy of our home, not yet.

As to the future of America, no so bright. Just look at what the Obama administration had done to this country already, it’s astounding how much damage he’s done in a relatively short period of time. If Obama is permitted to continue his reign of friendly socialism, our country is doomed to failure, unless we begin to resist, call those elected to office, and demand our voices, not only be heard, but our ideas acted upon. We pay their salaries, as employers, as United States citizens, we have the right to demand that our elected officials listen to us. It is not an option!

There are men who learn from history, and men who think they are history. Obama is the latter. But, more on him in another post.
